Family DivisionThe Ministry of Justice has announced the appointment of Yvonne Gibson as a District Judge of the Principal Registry of the Family Division with effect from 9 July 2010.

Ms Gibson, aged 53, was admitted as a solicitor in 1981 and worked in private practice in County Durham representing parents and children in care proceedings before becoming the Group Solicitor for Child Care at Buckinghamshire County Council.

She has a wide experience of Local Authorities and has lectured regularly on care proceedings especially in relation to the Public Law Outline.
