This article considers vulnerable witnesses involved in care proceedings. It provides an overview of the applicable law and rules. Specifically, the article looks at what amounts to a vulnerable witness and how practitioners can identify vulnerability. It further details ways in which vulnerable witnesses are to be supported (both inside and outside the courtroom) and how that support is most appropriately implemented. The article also guides practitioners to further materials that provide information as to how effective implementation of this protection can be secured.
