A summary of the legal provisions that apply to placing looked after children outside the jurisdiction of England and Wales. This article contains a brief summary of the relevant provisions of the Hague Convention 1996 and focuses on the recent authorities relating to placement within the UK, in Scotland. This article aims to give practitioners a general idea of the legal situation post Brexit and BIIa.
