The President of the Family Division has confirmed that the Financial Remedies pilot, which is currently confined to the West Midlands, will be extended to eight other court centres. The pilot will be extended to other parts of the East and West Midlands, and to Cheshire and Merseyside, the north-east, south-east and south-west Wales and London.
The new scheme is a ticketing and allocation regime designed to ensure all Financial Remedy cases are case managed and heard by a suitably experienced judge. The President said the positive reports of the operation of the West Midlands pilot auger well for its replication elsewhere.
