In recognition of the turn of a new decade and a period of fairly momentous change for family law we have teamed up with the top family law chambers in the country to reflect on the state of family law today and set out our predictions for what is to come over the last ten years. As well as the big ticket items on every family lawyer’s mind as we head into the 2020s such as BREXIT and no fault divorce we have also considered more subtle changes to our practice in areas such as pensions transparency within court proceedings and a holistic approach to private law children disputes. We cannot thank our contributors enough for their considered and superbly articulated insights into what we might expect in family law over the next ten years and have thoroughly enjoyed putting together this article as a virtual time capsule for what is to come. We look forward to casting our eye back in ten years’ time to find out how far off the mark we were!
