Chief Medical Officer's Report

The consultation period for the Chief Medical Officer's report Bearing Good Witness, Proposals for reforming the delivery of medical expert evidence in family law cases closed on 28 February 2007. An analysis of the outcome of the consultation is expected to help shape the future direction of medical expert witness services, in particular to introduce and develop expert witness teams from within the NHS. A paper summarising the responses to the consultation will be published in May 2007 and will be available on the Department of Health website at www.dh.gov.uk/Consultations/fs/en
