Sally Harrison KC considers whether Schedule 1 claims are only for the ultra rich. In this article she addresses the hurdles which potential applicants have to overcome in order to make a Schedule 1 claim. In particular, whether the issues surrounding obtaining funding by way of an LSPO are acting as a deterrent for applicants. The article raises interesting questions about the reasons underlying the significant fall in the number of Schedule 1 applications notwithstanding the rise in children born outside marriage.
