AlphaBiolabs are extending their support to vulnerable families once again this Christmas.
Through their work providing DNA, drug and alcohol testing services, the company have regular contact with many people who are undergoing legal or court-instructed DNA, drug or alcohol testing, and are struggling with some aspects of daily life.
In response, AlphaBiolabs have been working with several charities supporting vulnerable families and individuals through their Giving Back campaign.During 2021 the company chose four incredible organisations with whom their values are very closely aligned, and they will continue to support them during 2022. The UK charities are Nacoa, NYAS, TGP Cymru, and SFAD.
A donation of £5 for every legal instruction received is made, with the monies being passed to each charity on a quarterly basis. In the last 6 months, these donations have amounted to almost £19,000.
“Giving back is more important than ever after the last 20 months”, said Rachel Davenport, Director at AlphaBiolabs. “We are proud to support these charities, all of which work with some of the UK’s most vulnerable children and families.”
In the festive spirit and knowing how many people are facing poverty and hunger at this time of year, the company have also just launched their ‘12 Days of Christmas’ campaign where they will donate £100 per day to 12 of the Trussell Trust food banks across the country, helping to provide emergency food and compassionate, practical support to people in crisis.
The national campaign started with the foodbank in Warrington on 6th December, which is closest to the testing laboratories, and members of the AlphaBiolabs team delivered £100 worth of food items on Day One. For the 11 days thereafter they’ll be donating £100 to Trussell Trust food banks in the following locations: London (3 separate food banks), Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Blackburn, Newcastle upon Tyne and Glasgow. All of these locations are home to one of AlphaBiolabs’ walk-in centres which offer a free sample collection service for all legal DNA, drug or alcohol testing.
On the twelfth day, they will also be giving an
additional £1,000 donation to Cash for Kids, a grant-giving charity that helps
disadvantaged children across the UK.
Rachel Davenport added: “Through our various donations we hope to make a positive difference to some of the families and children who have struggled throughout the year and help make the festive season just that little bit brighter for them.
