Costs allowances in family proceedings

Following on from D Burrows 'Costs allowances and legal services orders' published in March [2013] Fam Law 318, this article looks at the various forms a costs allowance order may take. It emphasises that legal services orders are only for matrimonial and civil partnership proceedings. For the rest it explains what costs allowances provision there may be for all other forms of family proceedings. It explains under what statute applications proceed and how and on what grounds formal court application is made.
