Lisa Girdwood

Lisa is a dedicated and committed family lawyer at Brodies LLP. Clients value her warm confidence and understanding approach. She is passionate about achieving positive outcomes for children through her work. She is passionate too about securing fair and equitable financial settlements for her clients. Having originally studied English and History at Edinburgh University, Lisa likes to think of herself as something of a wordsmith. Married with two daughters she understands the challenges faced by many clients in managing career and family life. Lisa is committed to alternative dispute resolution and was among the first lawyers in Scotland to train as a collaborative lawyer. Away from work, Lisa’s favourite place in the world is Tuscany, where she can be found every summer drifting from cafe to cafe.

Lisa, a trained collaborative lawyer, specialises in divorce, separation, child law and international child abduction. She also has extensive experience in relocation matters, financial provision, mediation and representing the interests of children as curator ad litem. Lisa also represents incapable adults in her role as court appointed safeguarder.
